I was right about not getting too much stitching done yesterday. Busy day at the shop and it didn’t help that I didn’t feel very good. Stupid cough! I am really tired of it. Anyway, here is a new pic of Sabrina -

Weekend Update…..
So, Thursday was my birthday and I have taken the last few days off! Here are some pictures of my current works in progress. First is Bluebell, as of last Thursday -

Not the best picture but maybe I can do better next time. I have also started a stitch along with my friend Aleata. We are doing two years worth of Calico Crossroads Calendar Cats. We are using Gloriana threads for the borders. Looking good so far!

So, with so many project going, (as well as two Chatelaines!), I need to get busy, busy! Work at the shop tomorrow, hopefully will be able to get some stitching done!

Wednesday Feb 3
Ok, so I got sucked into a book yesterday and got no stitching done! Well, it didn’t help that I spent a lot of the day in the car running kids around either. Also doesn’t help that I have a stupid cough that I can’t get rid of! But, I did work on Bluebell, so here is her update -

Only one more row and her wings are done! I am also working on a stitch-along with a friend. It is a needlepoint called Kris’s Cross, in my own color choices of course!
Not much else to say for today. I don’t have to take anyone anywhere today, so I should be able to get something done. I do want to get some organizing done, so we’ll see!

Tuesday Feb 2
I had a good day at the shop. Didn’t get to stitch much, but I got some organizing of projects done. Weird thing happend though. Was staying late to stitch in peace and quiet and the lights went out! For some reason, all of Grand Ave lost power. Still not sure what happend. Maybe I will find out today! Hard to stitch in the dark though…. But here are my updated pictures of Bluebell -

Monday February 1st….
What a weekend! Poor Kendra has not had a good week. Did I mention she split her chin open last week? Well, they glued it shut – which didn’t really hold very well and so it started looking inflammed, so I took her back to the doctor on Wednesday. They said it was healing but I should put antibiotics on it. Then, Friday, both little ones had shots. Friday morning, Kendra hit her chin on a chair and split it open again. So, she not only got 2 shots, but she got her chin glued again. She was NOT amused. That night, we went to the movies to see Avatar. Kendra and Jack got to spend the time with their dad. When we picked them up, I noticed a red spot on Kendra’s head. Figured she had just bumped her head or something. Put her to bed no problem. Next morning, I start looking more closely at her and notice she is covered in red splotches. Something is not right. Luckily, doctor had Saturday hours, so back to the doctor! She has hives! Finally get a hold of her dad and find out she had shrimp fried rice that night. Guess she’s allergic to shellfish! All is well now. Taking her back to doctor this morning….

This is my progress on Bluebell as of last Friday. I didn’t get a lot of stitching done over the weekend, so I don’t really have anything else to post right now. Maybe tomorrow if I get to stitch at the shop today!

Thursday January 28
Happy 21st birthday to my daughter Pamela and happy birthday to my friend Stephanie! I spent yesterday in my car most of the day. I got nothing done it seems like. I know I didn’t get to stitch! Anyway, here is an update on Bluebell -

I made some progress on her wings. Here is a closer look at them -
It is hard to see the lighter colors in her wings in this picture but they are really pretty. I did some of the outlining for her body too. That makes me happy. It drives me bonkers to look at something like this stitched but without the outlining. I guess because it gives me a sense of accomplishment to see it finished. I guess that is why I like to bead as I go too!
While looking for something yesterday, I came across a pattern I have been wanting to stitch for a while. I think this might be my next small piece. It is called Griffin Kitten by X’s and Oh’s. So cute!

Happy 16th birthday to my son Sean! Just a short note today – we are going to go and play in the snow for a little bit before it starts snowing again.

I am working on her wings for a while. They are a patchwork of 3 different kreinik braids. Very pretty!
I got the patterns organized at the shop yesterday, but I didn’t get any stitching done at all. Gloriana silks are going up in price as of February 1st so get your order into Vicki at Stitcher’s Treasures this week! Okay, that is my plug for the day. I need to work on my own order this afternoon. Now, off to play in the snow!

January 25
I had a really good weekend. I got to stitch and spend time with my family and nothing too truamatic happend! What more could you want? I am so excited though. Sabrina is coming along fabuously -

See?! I really think Mirabilia needs a new photographer. She just photographs so well when I take her picture and I love it! She is flowing very well. I am surprised by the colors and how they work together. Looking at the picture on the pattern, you would never guess that she uses sea greens in the dress, but it works!
Now, here is a Bluebell update. I am not sure how much you can see as a difference from the last post. I really just got some the outlining done on the flower and a little bit of the Waterlilies done in the hair. Still have a few stitches left there. Anyway, here she is -

Friday Jan 22
Back to the doctors again! Kendra decided to be a daredevil and tip her chair over backwards. I had heard about chins splitting open, but missed it with my own four children! Luckily, dermabond was invented…. Thank goodness it didn’t need stitches. Did I mention I love dermabond?
So, here is an updated picture of Bluebell -

and, I got to spend some quality time with Sabrina. I am loving her! She is turning out to be a fun and rewarding stitch. Too bad I have stitcher’s ADD sometimes!

I haven’t backstitched her eye and eyelashes yet. Or, rather I did but I took it out cause I didn’t like it. I am going to take a closer look at Winter and Autumn Queens to see how they were done. Three strands of DMC 3371 to backstitch her eyelashes and then making 3 diagonal lines? Really not attractive. The eyebrow is really nice though! Did I mention I am enjoying her?
So, hoping to get some more stitching done this weekend, but have little ones all day tomorrow cause their dad is working. It is so nice on the days when he takes Jack! I will leave you with happy wishes for a wonderful weekend. Enjoy the break from the rain!

Thursday, January 21
Ok, so yesterday was busy, busy, busy! I had planned a nice day shopping with a friend and her little one. Just me and my little one. Well, you know, the best laid plans and all that…. I started off with my normal hour of stitching, then Sean told me that he had class starting that day at 8:00 am until 9:50. Well, I was supposed to open the shop for Vicki at 10:00. Okay, that was still doable…. Then, I had to call the doctor’s at 8:00, so I could take Jack and Kendra in to be checked. Figured Jack had an ear infection and Kendra had been coughing for a week, so I figured I would save myself a trip and take her too. They could see them at 9:30. Great, needed to be in 3 places at once! So, found out that they both have ear infections! But, no stitching accomplished other than my hour on Bluebell. But, I did get to go to Williams-Sonoma, which is ALWAYS fun! So, here is a picture of Bluebell -

For those of you who are going to stitch her, Nora forgot to mention which thread to outline the flower with! I am going to use 794.
Rain is coming down heavily here and flooding the streets. Vicki closed the shop early and we are not stitching tonight, but I am hoping to make some more progress on Sabrina. I will post a picture of her tomorrow. Meanwhile, stay safe everyone!
