Day late and….
Well, you get the idea! First thing, here is a progress pic of what I spent last weekend working on…

Meditterraneo
I finished the columns and such on the left side and started making progress on the dress. If I get the chance to stitch this week, I will be trying to concentrate on the right side pot of flowers.
Yesterday was kind of painful for me. I got a call from the adoption people regarding Jack and Kendra. They pretty much said that they would not split the kids up and that I had done my part and needed to let them go. I would happily keep Kendra, but I just can’t handle two more children. And my children can’t deal with two more. This is going to be really hard on me to let go and I know they will be trying to talk me into adopting both of the kids.
After all of that, I find out that the witch who is my ex-sister, who complained about the little ones mother never letting her see them and hating her, is friends with the mom on Facebook! I just know they are planning something. But, I have to believe that the children will have a good home wherever they go.
And then! I went to the eye doctor for a new prescription and she tells me I have an eye infection and I can’t wear contacts for a week! I cannot see without them and the glasses I have are at least FIVE years old!! So, anyway, I will not be doing a lot of driving this week and I definitely will not be driving at night!
Enough for today. I will do my best to keep writing. I wish everyone the best and I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Ok – so long time no write!
I have been really lazy about writing lately and I apologize. Things just get so busy with the kids and I feel like I whine and complain to everyone about the stress they cause in my life. I don’t like to complain! Anyway, I am going to post some WIP pics of some things I have been working on lately. It isn’t everything, but it is the stuff I am trying to concentrate on!

Meditteraneo
This is one of Sharon’s pieces. She was stitching it for a good friend and I am trying to finish it before Christmas. I would like to be able to make it a Christmas gift, but my life is so crazy, I can only try! (This piece is by Passione Ricamo)

In My Wildest Dreams
I have also gone back to spending a little time on this piece every week. I try to spend an hour or so on it while I am working at the shop. So many mistakes but it is kind of a crazy quilt pattern anyway so it will all work out. I hope!

Hawaii Mandala Garden
I am also spending a few hours a week working on this piece. It is like slogging through snow some days. I HATE working on black! Don’t get me wrong, it is stunning. But, sheesh, talk about a headache! Looks great though if I do say so myself.
So, in other news, my hubby has a part-time job that is kind of turning into a full-time job. It doesn’t pay great but it is better than nothing! Even my oldest two are working. The DBA here in Escondido is sponsoring a haunted house (on Grand Ave!) and they are some of the actors. Yeah for them! It has made life pretty busy around here. Now, if I can get an answer about where the little ones are going to end up…. talk about a soap opera!
Well, I will try to do better from now on! ( Including trying not to whine too much!) Have a great day everyone!

Did you have a good weekend?
I did! I didn’t get to be kid free but I got a lot of stitching done! Yeah! Wanna see? I worked on 3 different projects. The first is the Little Witch -

Little Witch
I feel like I am SO close to being done, she is hard to put down. The second one is my Hanging Gardens. I got more of the border done and made progress on the last part -

Hanging Gardens
and a closer look -

Hanging Gardens
and the other piece I worked on is Counting Bats by Just Nan. I mentioned that I started it last week. All the lettering is over one! I didn’t know that until I started but it is fun just the same -

Counting Bats
Pretty good for a weekend! It is definitely a stress reliever for me. I feel good today and, even better, I get to work at the shop today! Now as long as I don’t have any high maintenance customers….
Have a great day everyone!

New Pics
Ok, so I have not been inspired to write this week. I apologize. I just couldn’t think of anything that was as remotely exciting as finishing my Winter White Santa I guess. So here is my Friday update on my Little Witch -

Little Witch
I made a lot of progress on her and I think she is just cute! I also got to work on my Hanging Gardens -

Hanging Gardens
I still have the last part and the rest of the border to go. I did manage to kit up a couple more projects also. I started Counting Bats by Just Nan last night at Stitch Night. I also kitted Shakesphere’s Fairies and Sleepy Hallow. Just waiting on fabric for Sleepy Hallow.
I am going to spend the weekend with my friend Aimee again. I am so looking forward to the break from kids. Maybe this time I will get some stitching done too. Of course, I also have a scrapbook album to work on as well.
A final note for you – this is this month’s warmer -

Jack O Lantern
Isn’t he cute?! I love it! The scent this month is Toasted Caramel Sugar… and it smells as yummy as it sounds!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Back to the real world…
I had a wonderful, relaxing weekend! My friend, Aimee, and I spent the weekend visiting her mother and doing pretty much nothing all weekend – and it was GREAT! I pretty much did nothing but read books – I think I finished 4 or 5 of them. Unfortunately, the weekend just wasn’t long enough.
Today it is back to work, but at least my work for today is at the shop. I really enjoy my Mondays there. If I am lucky, UPS will bring me something fun! I will be rearranging patterns at the shop too, which is always fun. I can’t believe how I can still find patterns I haven’t seen before!
Well, I am still working on the border for my Hanging Gardens. I will try to post a picture tomorrow. I get the last part tomorrow too, so it should be my current project for a bit. Well, have a great day everyone and if you are in the LA area – stay safe! And for heaven’s sake, EVACUATE if they tell you to!

Late Friday Update
Sorry this is being posted so late in the day. Time got away from me, but I did get the pictures I needed to post here. So, here is my Little Witch with about 9 hours stitching time -

Little Witch
I am making good progress and she is a really fun stitch. Here is a, hopefully, better picture of my Winter White Santa. Happy dance, happy dance!

Winter White Santa
I did use the “crystal” that came with the pattern, but only temporarily. I am investing in a Swarovski crystal star. The “crystal” that came with the pattern was a disappointment, as it was PLASTIC! I really feel that it was misleading in the extreme. But,oh well, at least I got it done! I am busily working on the border for Hanging Gardens and I should get the last part next week, so I will hopefully be doing another happy dance. And then, if my fabric is here, I will be starting Sleepy Hallow by Glendon Place.
Oh yeah! Just a reminder that this weekend is the last days of the 10% off at Scentsy. Make sure you check out my website for the catalog. You can order through the website too! www.scentsy.com/dorothyl Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy, happy dance!
Santa is finished! Woohoo! Yeah! I will say that I loved stitching this piece. It was a lot of fun and a lot of beads. This was also a kind of bittersweet project too. I started this project 5 days before Sharon died. I have spent a lot of time thinking of her as I stitched and I ended up using a tacky bob and needles that belonged to her when I did the beads. So, Sharon, I dedicate this project to your memory. I love you and miss you lots!

Winter White Santa Finished!
I am sorry the picture is blurry. I took it with my cell phone. I was at the shop at the time and I had forgotten my camera. I will try to get a better pic and post it here tomorrow or Friday.
I am working on the border for my Hanging Gardens and I will have to get back to you about my next project. I really am having a hard time making up my mind!
My official start and finish dates for this project are June 4 to August 26!

Two hobbies
Ok, I admit it. I am a stashaholic. And I don’t want a cure! I love having two hobbies. I love collecting threads and fondling all the pretty colors, especially the silks. There is nothing like finding a wonderful color that is silk. I may never use it, but I have it! Yes, I have patterns I am pretty sure I will never stitch. So what? I enjoyed the experience of buying that pattern and planning to stitch it.
You may wonder why I am writing about this. Well, let me enable, I mean let me tell you. I have found more wonderful patterns and we won’t even talk about threads. I know I mentioned last week Shakepeare’s Fairies by Mirabilia, well, in the course of helping a friend look for a piece of fabric for them, I found something else. And as those of you who stitch know and frequently say, I want it NOW! It is called Sleepy Hallow (yes, I love Halloween pieces!) designed by Glendon Place. I have stitched their Murky Manor and thoroughly enjoyed doing so. You can see a picture of Sleepy Hallow at http://www.picturethisplus.com/html/news.html Love it!
So, no need for a 12-step program. I would, however, be interested in a 12-thread program or maybe a 12-pattern program…..
Of course, none of this addresses the stamping, scrapbooking, beading, and quilting that I also do…

Partial Happy Dance!!
All the stitching is done on Santa! Woohoo! Now for the beading….

Winter White Santa
Yes, I did start the beading before taking the picture! I couldn’t wait! Today I will be at the shop all day, so hopefully I will get a good start on the beading. My hubby is leaving for 3 days on Wednesday, so Idon’t know if I will be able to get a lot done. Babies and beading don’t go together!
Thank you everyone for your kind comments. Have a great day!
